This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

2024 Summer Camp

Miami Beach Rowing Club’s Head Coach Vladimir Matovic and his experienced staff are ready to challenge new and experienced rowers to reach their potential.

 

MBRC’s summer camps are designed to teach and improve fundamental rowing technique, mental aspects of racing & training, and overall strength & flexibility.

 

The camps will be held at one of the most beautiful rowing facilities in the country, the Miami Beach Watersports Center, located on the calm waters of Indian Creek.

 

Boys and girls entering 6th - 12th grades with an interest in joining the winning tradition of MBRC are welcome. Numbers may be capped and registration is online on a first come basis.

 

Summer Camp Dates:

Week 1            Monday, June 10 to Friday, June 14 

Week 2            Monday, June 17 to Friday, June 21  

Week 3            Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28

Week 4            Monday, July 1 to Saturday, July 6 (off July 4)

 

Novice Camp for new or recreational rowers: an introduction to rowing for new students who have not participated in a rowing program or for those who have only rowed recreationally. These sessions teach the fundamentals of the sport.  

 

Novice Camp Times: 8:30am to 11:30am 

Novice Camp Fee: $275 per week

 

Varsity Camp for experienced competitive rowers: a challenging camp with training focused on skills development and proficiency.

 

Varsity Camp Times: 8:00am to 12:00pm

Varsity Camp Fee: $350 per week

 

 

 Registration is online only, and numbers may be capped if necessary to provide a safe environment. Camp activities will include sessions on the water, and training on land with ergs, running, stretching and core exercises. Time on the water is variable and weather related.

What to Bring?

 

  • Two water bottles already filled. The water fountains will be available for filling bottles only, no drinking.

 

  • Athletic gear for one row per day: running shoes, socks, spandex shorts, t-shirts/tank tops [not loose fitting]

Please note that our dress code requires appropriate athletic clothing: shorts are to reach the tip of the fingers when both arms are extended by the side. T-shirts are to be worn at all times. Clothing from other youth rowing programs, or advertising alcohol or tobacco, is not permitted.

 

  • Sun protection - hat, sunglasses, sunscreen (recommend SPF 20 or greater)

  • Towel and change of clothing for the Swim Test. The test is mandatory for new campers and consists of freestyle swim for 200 yards non-stop, treading water for 5 minutes, and putting on a life vest. 

  • Swim Test to be performed in shorts & t-shirt - NO bathing suits/speedos/bikinis.

 

  • If your child has not previously participated in an MBRC program, the swim test will be administered on the first day of camp or when the Head Coach determines whether weather conditions permit. 

What not to bring -

 

Do not bring valuables to camp. The Center is not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings, phones, etc.
